Head of Products - Payments, Innovation, Digital, Services

The Head of Product will be responsible for setting the organisations vision, strategy, design and execution, enabling the success of the group sales teams and playing a key role in the strategic growth of the organisation. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and managing a team of 5 Product Managers, the role will be based in London with some international travel.

The role will involve:

  • Leading the creation and successful execution of global product strategy, that enables the sales team to drive revenue growth and profits for the business
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to develop product strategy, both internally and externally, including sales, go to market, customer solutions, development and customers, to develop a sustainable global product development roadmap
  • Evaluating market trends, product industry and competition strategies, from which to build a leading-edge product portfolio that drives profitable revenue
  • Lead the transformation of product ideas into actionable concepts, timelines, and projects whilst considering the financial implications, marketing needs, and the overall objectives of the business
  • Customer facing, building close relationships to understand their immediate and future needs, supporting commercial discussions
  • Drive the delivery of the product roadmap, overseeing every element of new products from conceptualisation, launch and on-going performance management
  • Lead, mentor, develop and manage the product team, ensuring improvement in their professional skills
  • Ensure continuous improvement across the product portfolio, improving revenue and profits and delivering customer satisfaction

Success will be measured against several KPIs including but not limited to:

  • Performance improvement resulting in revenue growth
  • New product adoption with existing clients
  • Product adoption with new clients
  • Improved level of Un-Attended Payments and Straight Through Processing (STP)
  • ROI of payment products


  • A strong track record of the development of product strategy and execution in a payments environment, leading to revenue and profit growth
  • A strong communicator with personal resilience, and the personal and management skills and style to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think strategically, analyse numerous information sets and know how to apply to influence the development of product opportunities
  • Detail orientated with superior problem solving and organisational skills with an ability to conceptualise, prioritise and manage multiple projects
  • Deep experience of product management and development gained in an international payments environment
  • Commercial mind-set that can spot and optimise opportunities
  • Excellent at developing and managing relationships and skilled at influencing senior stakeholders through the strength of explanation and business logic
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a ‘sleeves rolled up’ approach, who brings people with them and can effectively communicate, motivate and inspire cross-functional team
